About Us
SanJoseNeighbors.Org is a coalition of concerned San Jose residents advocating for responsible solutions to homelessness that prioritize the safety and well-being of our neighborhoods and natural spaces. Our core belief is that city-sanctioned tent encampments should be placed away from neighborhoods and waterways.

Our journey began in Willow Glen, where in 2019, we successfully opposed a city proposal to establish a sanctioned encampment in our community.
In early 2024, when the Mayor revived the idea of city-sanctioned tent sites, we more formally organized under the SanJoseNeighbors.org website to expand our efforts citywide.

Our mission is clear: to work with local leaders and fellow residents to ensure that solutions to homelessness are found in more suitable locations, away from neighborhoods and environmentally sensitive areas.
We believe that there is ample land in San Jose and Santa Clara County that can provide more appropriate alternatives for these services.

We are deeply committed to preserving the quality of life in San Jose, not only for ourselves but for future generations. In that spirit, we have issued an open letter to the Mayor, expressing our firm opposition to safe sleeping sites being established in residential neighborhoods. We urge every resident to join us in this cause by signing the letter at www.sanjoseneighbors.org/letter.
We also invite all neighbors to be part of the conversation and help us develop compassionate, thoughtful solutions that benefit the entire community.
